Brother Charles
P. Wanda, SM
Bro.
Charles received his undergraduate degree in Art
Education from the University of Dayton in 1959 and an
MSAE from Pratt Institute. He taught Art at St. Joseph
High School in Cleveland for two years before entering
the Marianists in 1962. In 1964 he was assigned to teach
Studio Art at Cincinnati’s Archbishop Moeller High
School where he was recognized for his teaching and work
as Art Director for their theatrical productions, the
Annual Auction themes and other Moeller Art projects,
until his retirement and move to Dayton in 2005.
His Art expression has taken many forms over the years
with Painting and Drawing being his two most common
techniques. He paints in watercolor and oil and prefers
drawing in charcoal or pencil. Bro. Charles’ work is
both realistic and abstract depending on the subject
chosen. He takes his inspiration from God’s creation in
order to help others to enjoy the beauty of nature and
God’s presence around them.
