Since its
opening in December of 1989, Gallery Saint John has been
showing art works done by the members of the Society of
Mary and their acquaintances in the Dayton community. A
not-for-profit endeavor of the Marianists, Gallery Saint
John has hosted shows including local church
communities, art associates of the Marianists, nature
preserve displays and works from the collection of the
Marian Library of the University of Dayton.
"We have
nine shows each year and our gallery is free and open to
the public," explains Brother Joe Barrish, SM, gallery
coordinator. “We invite those interested to a beautiful
nature setting to see what we hope are beautiful efforts
by our art people.”
Gallery
Saint John is a not-for-profit gallery. However, all the
works presented here and similar items may be purchased.
The artists are available
for contract work and for commissions.
